Ferry Boat Inn, Ferry Lane, Tottenham Hale, N17 9NG. The old coaching inn has been trading for over 250 years at the crossing of the River Lea. Recently refurbished – winter log fires, stone-flagged floors, oak beams and large garden for a summer’s evening overlooking the reservoir, this is like escaping to a local country pub. Real ales, wines from about £3.50 a glass. The food is reasonably priced with an emphasis on pub classics.
The Prince of Wales, 146 Lea Bridge Road, Clapton, E5 9QB. Serving good food including a Sunday roast and pizzas – great after a walk along the River Lea or a visit to Paradise Works.
